Privacy Policy

Effective Date: July 21, 2026Last Updated: July 21, 2026

1. Introduction

Matched in Miami (“Matched in Miami,” “we,” “our,” or “us”) is a dating and social discovery platform serving singles in South Florida. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, share, and safeguard your information when you use our website, installed app, and related services (collectively, the “Service”). The Service is operated by Iconic Media Group, LLC, with a principal place of business at 1918 Harrison Street, Suite 211, Hollywood, FL 33020.

We built Matched in Miami to be privacy-conscious by default. We do not sell your personal data, and we limit what we collect to what is needed to run a safe, effective dating platform. If you do not agree with this policy, you should not use the Service.

2. Scope of This Policy

This policy covers the Matched in Miami website at matchedinmiami.com, the installable app (PWA), and any feature accessed through your account. It does not cover third-party websites, venues, event listings, or external services we link to — those have their own policies. Where we embed third-party tools (for example, Google sign-in, maps, or analytics), we describe what they receive below.

3. Eligibility — Users 18 and Older

The Service is intended exclusively for individuals who are 18 years of age or older. We use your date of birth to verify eligibility and to exclude underage users. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If we learn we have collected information from a person under 18, we will delete it promptly. See Section 23 (Children’s Privacy) for details.

4. Information You Provide

When you create an account or use the Service, you may provide:

  • Full name and display name
  • Email address
  • Date of birth (for age verification only)
  • Gender identity and orientation
  • Height and neighborhood within South Florida
  • Relationship goals, intent, and seriousness timeline
  • Dating preferences, dealbreakers, and lifestyle tags
  • Responses to onboarding questions and profile prompts
  • Profile prompts, “ask me about” hooks, and custom profile sections

5. Profile and Dating-Preference Information

Your profile content — photos, bio, interests, lifestyle tags, green flags, how you show interest, first-date energy, prompts, and optional social media links — is stored with your account. You control whether your profile is public or private (see Section 13). Dating preferences such as age range, distance, and dealbreakers are used only to generate matches and are not displayed to other users.

6. Google Authentication Information

You may sign up or sign in using Google. When you do, we use Google authentication to create or access your Matched in Miami account.

Google User Data

We request only the minimum Google information needed for sign-in. Specifically, when you use Google sign-in we receive:

  • Your Google account email address
  • Your Google account display name
  • Your Google profile image URL
  • A stable Google account identifier used to connect your account

We do not receive your Google password. We never request and never see your Google contacts, Gmail content, Google Calendar, Google Drive files, or any Google data beyond the items listed above. The scopes we request are limited to sign-in only (OpenID Connect and the email scope).

We use your Google user data only to:

  • Create your Matched in Miami account or sign you in
  • Prevent duplicate accounts and detect fraud
  • Display your name and profile image within the Service if you choose to use them

Your Google user data is processed by our service providers that host authentication and account infrastructure. It is retained for the life of your account unless you request deletion. You may request deletion of your account and associated Google data at any time (see Section 19), and you may disconnect or revoke Matched in Miami’s access to your Google account at any time from your Google account’s security settings under “Third-party apps with account access.”

7. User Content — Photos, Video, Audio, Voice Notes, Messages, Posts, and Comments

The Service lets you upload photos, a short video introduction, and voice notes, and lets you send messages, create feed posts, and comment. This “user content” is stored with your account and handled as follows:

  • Photos, video, and audio: stored to display on your profile or in messages you choose to send.
  • Voice notes: stored as recordings you attach to your profile; they are played back to users who view your profile or receive your message.
  • Messages: visible to you and the recipient(s) of the conversation. Message content is private between participants but may be accessed by authorized administrators solely for safety investigations as described in Section 16.
  • Posts and comments: visible according to the audience you select (public feed or limited).

Do not share sensitive personal details (such as financial information or home address) through user content. You are responsible for what you choose to share.

8. Compatibility Games, Questionnaire Answers, AI Matching, and Inferred Affinity Signals

When you play compatibility games, answer questionnaires, or interact with the Service, we store your answers and derive compatibility signals. We also generate inferred affinity signals — for example, types of profiles you view or interact with — to improve match quality. These signals are used to calculate compatibility scores and suggest matches.

Inferred affinity signals are not stored as a raw list of every profile you viewed; they are aggregated into preference signals used for matching. See Section 12 for how AI systems use this information.

9. Location Information

We use your neighborhood selection (within South Florida) and, when you choose to enable it, approximate device location to suggest nearby events, date spots, and matches within a distance you control. We do not store precise continuous GPS tracks. Location is used to support date ideas, event discovery, and the “Tonight in Miami” feature.

10. Device, Browser, Cookie, PWA, Notification, and Analytics Information

We automatically collect limited technical information, including:

  • Device type, browser type, and operating system
  • Approximate IP-derived region (not stored as precise location)
  • Usage activity within the Service (pages viewed, features used)
  • Installation and update state for the installable app (PWA), such as whether you dismissed an install prompt
  • Whether you have enabled notifications (notification permission is requested separately and never granted silently)

We use cookies and similar storage to keep you signed in and remember preferences. We use privacy-respecting analytics to understand aggregate usage. We do not use invasive device fingerprinting, and we do not sell analytics data.

11. How Information Is Used

We use the information we collect to:

  • Create, manage, and secure your account
  • Generate and deliver AI matches and compatibility insights
  • Facilitate messaging, events, date plans, and social features
  • Operate Browse Singles, Secret Crush, and discovery features
  • Provide safety tools, investigate reports, and enforce the Terms
  • Send service-related notifications and, where you opt in, marketing updates
  • Maintain and improve the Service and its matching logic

12. How AI and Automated Systems Use Information

Matched in Miami uses automated systems to generate compatibility scores, suggest matches, recommend date ideas, and summarize your “dating style.” These systems analyze profile information, preference answers, and aggregated interaction signals. They are tools to help you connect — they do not make legally binding decisions about you and do not guarantee any match, compatibility, conduct, or relationship outcome.

13. Public Versus Private Profile Visibility

You choose whether your profile is public (appears in Browse Singles and can be discovered organically) or private (shown only to AI weekly matches, mutual Secret Crush matches, and existing matches). You can change this at any time in Settings. Until you make an explicit visibility choice, your profile is excluded from discovery. Your choice controls who can find you; it does not change how we store your data.

14. How Information Is Shared

We do not sell your personal data.

We may share information:

  • With other users, to the extent you choose to make content visible (public profile, posts, messages you send)
  • With service providers and subprocessors who help operate the Service (Section 15)
  • To protect the rights, safety, and security of users, including safety investigations (Section 16)
  • If required by law or legal process (Section 17)
  • In connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of all or part of our business

15. Service Providers and Subprocessors

We use third-party providers to host the Service, store files, send email, provide authentication (including Google sign-in), supply maps and event data, and run analytics. These providers process information on our behalf under contracts that restrict their use of it. A current list of categories of subprocessors includes hosting, file storage, authentication, email delivery, payments (where applicable), maps/events data, and analytics. We will provide a named list on request.

16. Safety Reports, Evidence, Moderation, and Authorized Administrative Review

When you file a safety report, we may collect the details you provide and relevant evidence (such as message content or reported content). Message content is private between participants and is accessed by authorized administrators only when there is a legitimate safety need — for example, to investigate harassment, threats, or other conduct violations. Every administrative access to private message evidence is recorded in an audit log that captures which administrator accessed which conversation, when, and for what reason.

17. Legal Disclosures

We may disclose information if required to do so by law, court order, or legal process, or if we believe in good faith that disclosure is necessary to protect the rights, property, or safety of our users or others, or to enforce our Terms of Service.

18. Data Retention

We retain your information for as long as your account is active and as needed to provide the Service. After account deletion, we retain limited information where necessary for safety, fraud prevention, legal compliance, billing, or dispute resolution, and then delete it when no longer needed. Anonymous, aggregated data may be retained indefinitely.

19. Account Deletion and Data-Deletion Requests

You can request deletion of your account and personal information from within Settings (Account > Delete account) or by contacting us at support@matchedinmiami.com or through our data-request form at https://matchedinmiami.com/contact.

When you submit a deletion request, your profile is removed from discovery and your account is disabled. We process deletion requests within a reasonable period — currently estimated at 14 days from verification of your request. We do not promise instant deletion.

Certain information may be retained where necessary for safety, fraud prevention, legal compliance, billing, or dispute resolution — for example, records related to active safety investigations, reports you filed or that were filed against you, and records needed to enforce the Terms. Retained information is kept only as long as needed for those purposes and then deleted.

If you signed in with Google, deleting your Matched in Miami account removes your data from our systems, but you should also revoke Matched in Miami’s access in your Google account security settings.

20. Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational safeguards — encrypted data transmission, secure authentication, access controls, and audit logging for sensitive actions — to protect your information. No system is perfectly secure. In the event of a breach affecting your personal information, we will notify affected users as required by applicable law.

21. Your Privacy Rights

Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the right to:

  • Access the personal information we hold about you
  • Correct inaccurate information
  • Request deletion of your personal information
  • Object to or restrict certain processing
  • Withdraw consent (including for marketing)
  • Receive a portable copy of your data

To exercise any of these rights, contact support@matchedinmiami.com or visit https://matchedinmiami.com/contact. We will respond within the time required by applicable law.

22. Florida and United States Users

Matched in Miami is operated from Florida, United States. If you are a resident of Florida or another U.S. state with a consumer privacy law, you may have additional rights. We process personal information in the United States and other jurisdictions where our service providers operate. By using the Service, you consent to this transfer and processing.

23. Children’s Privacy

The Service is not directed to children and is restricted to users 18 and older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact support@matchedinmiami.com and we will investigate and delete such information.

24. Third-Party Services and External Venues

The Service links to third-party services (such as Google, maps, and event providers) and to external venues for date ideas and events. These third parties have their own privacy practices and terms; we are not responsible for them. When you visit a venue or attend an event, you are responsible for your own safety and should review that party’s policies.

25. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will revise the “Last Updated” date above and, for material changes, provide notice in the Service. Continued use after changes take effect constitutes acceptance. If required by law, we will obtain your consent for material changes to how we process your data.
